Mel was named CMA's Entertainer of the Year in 1976 and is a member of the Nashville Songwriter's Hall of Fame.  He has appeared in a dozen feature films including "Every Which Way But Loose" with Clint Eastwood.  He travels with a 16-piece band and his mega hits include "Coca-Cola Cowboy", "I Ain't Never", "Detroit City", and "Ruby, Don't take Your Love to Town".
